The clean and open space within BladeCraft is the perfect learning environment for new barbers. We worked closely with owner and director, Lilly Benitez, to help realize her vision for the space. From the initial planning to completing design and finishing furniture touches, we handled the entire creation and completion of the BladeCraft space inhouse.
We used shiplap original to BladeCraft’s location to create a border stretching along the top half of the wall. Our goal was to add character and an interesting finish to the walls without implementing an overwhelming amount of wood.
The reception desk is also built out of the original shiplap we found onsite during demolition.
Because BladeCraft is both barber school and barber shop, we thought it would be helpful to have a space with some flexibility. Our shiplap moving walls allow BladeCraft’s barber area to remain closed while clients come and go as well as open up when necessary for classes and tutorials.

This build-out is full of custom signage created to make BladeCraft stand out. Signage is one of the small details we love to include in our work. These signs were created by hand either by our team or by a few special artists friends we like to bring in for hand lettering projects.
The shop’s door handle is created from old, metal clippers Lilly gave to us. Reusing familiar tools in a completely new way is something we always try to include in our projects. It’s one of those final finishing touches that help set our work apart as well as the work of our incredible clients.
